NPR’s new series Family Matters, covering aging, family, money, relationships, basically everything, is an inspirational and thought provoking feature on how different families survive and thrive in the old/new world of aging.

There’s one particular story that caught my attention — the 12 and 14 year old great-grandkids know and are OK with the fact being part of their family means looking out for their Great-Grandma. The kids sound so well-adjusted, like it’s no big deal for them to check-in on Great-Grandma. I was smiling at the radio.
